Calculated field hard codes my Excel 2007 pivot tables

Hi
This is my first post so i apologise if i break any conventions, but i had to ask because this problem is driving me crazy
I have created many pivot tables in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet, all using the same SQL Server data source.
When i add a calculated field to any of the pivot tables, then Save, Close and Re-open my spreadsheet, all of the pivot tables have been hard coded
as values and don't refresh anymore, so i have to start from scratch.
If anyone has any ideas/solutions/workarounds i would be very grateful

I saved the spreadsheet as xlsx and everything works as it should.
Simple but very effective solution.

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
Click on Boot Tab
Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
Select Network.
Click Apply and OK.
Reboot your System.
