Ambilight application for WMC

I have an ambinet light setup on my TV.
Using Boblight, and a client for XBMC, the lighting around the edges of te TV is a function of the image being displayed.

I would like to have the same behavior with WMC.
To accomplish this.
I need to create program that access the video frame currently being displayed.

Is this possible with WMC? if so are they any examples on how to do this? I am assuming this will require the WMC SDK.
