Cannot find or remove history items

I have windows 7 with IE.
On my homepage browser history, I keep getting a COUPLE OF old rm.
media files I once downloaded from a p2p.
The files are shown as not in my computer when I search.
I really don't want these appearing.
I have removed the p2p
program, all the downloads, even the player.
Nothing works, as they keep showing up every couple days.
Deleting them does nothing.
Can you help? Thanks

·        Did you check if these files are stored in Temporary Internet Files location?
Try to delete the Temp files on your computer and check if the files still show up.
1.     Click on start and type %Temp%.
2.     From the temp folder, delete all the files and folder by pressing ‘Ctrl’+’A’ and Delete from the key board.
3.     Some of the files may be not deleted as in use, you may ignore the files and folders.
Also if you have not deleted the browsing history, try to delete browsing history and check:
1.     Open Internet Explorer 8.
2.     Click Safety, and then click Delete Browsing History.
3.     In Delete Browsing History area, click Delete.
If this does not working, try to reset the Internet Explorer settings:
1.
Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
2.
If you use Windows Vista, click Start, type the following command in the Start Search box,  and then press ENTER:
inetcpl.cpl
The Internet Options dialog box appears.
3.
Click the Advanced tab.
4.
Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset.
Then click Reset again.
5.
When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet   Explorer Settings dialog box.

6.
Start Internet Explorer again.

Still not able to delete the browsing history can mean that this could be a Malware infection.

Machine Throttling

Go to the Start button.
In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
Restart your computer.
