Can not install files that require an internet connection

Ever since i bought my computer ( Packard Bell, no home build) i have had problems installing programs that require an internet connection.
For exampel: I cant install Java (The installer can not proceed with the current internet connection settings), I
cant update Ad-Aware (Connection issue, please check your network settings), I cant update world of warcraft (Launcher can not obtain patching information.
Please check your Internet configuration), I cant update Windows Live, it just say its been interrupted.
I tried the methodes suggested in http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7programs/thread/dac0b1b5-e460-42bc-8755-bd8a1f2e0280 , but it did not work.
 
I have a D-Link DWL G122 adapter that is supposed to work with Win7.
Not being able to update my anti virus and firewall really limits the use of my computer since i dont want to browse the web too much.
I have searched the web but not found any answer to my issue.
 
Please, help me.

EDIT: I now tried connecting with a wire aswell.
No change.
The d-link is therefore most likely not the issue

Okay.
I found the problem.
It was Norton, it came with the computer already installed.
I uninstalled it and now im updating ad aware :D
